A CLASSIC MOJITO
USING CIRCA SUGAR YIELDS A TRULY
The original mojito recipe was first concocted in Havana way back in 1942 and the rest is history.
It all began in La Bodeguita del Medio, one of Hemingway’s favorite bars. The creative mixologists combined cane sugar rum with the now famous ingredients, mixing it all without damaging the spearmint leaves. If you want to recreate this classic Mojito, make it taste its best.
By using Circa sugar, you will enhance the sweetness of the rum while pairing perfectly with the lime juice. Since Circa sugar is never colored (brown sugar is white refined sugar painted with molasses or caramel) or chemically refined (as is white sugar), it will not alter the taste or hollow the natural sweetness of your mojito. Here is the original recipe, allowing you a relatively simple way to enjoy a refreshing drink and impress friends with your bartending skills! Preparation is simple and you need only a few ingredients. A classic mojito is a great to match any summer BBQ!
In an 8 oz glass mix:
1/2 tsp of Circa sugar and 1/2 oz lime juice
Add spearmint leaves (stalk smashed, leave intact) and 3 oz of club soda or sparkling water.
Add 2 or 3 ice cubes and 1 1/2 oz White Rum
Stir and enjoy!
